FUNKZILLA plays a hot set of 70’s funk from the likes of Chaka, Parliament & James Brown.

 FUNKZILLA’S musicians are all funk-masters in their own right. They all live on the Sunshine Coast and have come together to funk with you!

 Toni Zaffa (Lead Vocals) is aSunshine Coast native, she was a Soul Sister in the Jesus Christ Superstar National Tour. Toni has toured with Deni Hines, Jon Stevens (NOISEWORKS), Renee Geyer,
Ian Moss (COLD CHISEL) and recorded with Kirk Pengilly (INXS) and Richard Clapton. Toni has played across the USA to sold-out performances including the hottest New York Clubs
with The David Letterman Band among others. Don’t miss Toni’s powerhouse vocals. A force to be reckoned with!    

Ric Halstead (Tenor Saxophone) has lead an extensive international career as a saxophonist and recording artist becoming an influential member of the Hong Kong scene.
Ric has performed with Red Rodney, Nat Adderley, Georgie Fame, Lonnie Smith, Jimmy Witherspoon, Gatemouth Brown, Mick Taylor, Elvin Bishop, & Albert Collins, to name a few.

 Annie Jackson(Alto Saxophone) made her name as one of Sydney’s only female Funk Sax players. Highly sought after,
Annie has performed at all the great Sydney venues including the Sydney Entertainment Centre, Opera House, Darling Harbor and the Sydney Olympics.  

Jonathan May (Keyboards):  studied classical piano as a teenager and from there excelled at all genres. Jon has performed with Phil Emmanuel and Kevin Borich and has toured the world over,
accompanying the greats, such as Bucky Baxter (Bob Dylan’s Band) and Lenny Kravitz. 

Arron Bool (Lead Guitar) originallyfrom Melbourne, is an extremely versatile guitarist,performing & recording with musicians froCat Empire & Blue King Brown.
Arron has worked with Lena Salim, Sahara Beck & Rachel Dunham (Rock of Ages). 

Robert H. Kani(Bass Guitar) actually slapped his bass guitarin the 70’s. He’s recently returned from touring extensively overseas including successful performances in Singapore, Malaysia, Katmandu and New Zealand.

Adam Messenger (Drums) is originally from Sydney. He first picked up his sticks at the ripe old age of 11 and has played and toured with many of the most popular corporate bands in Australia.
Adam specialises in funk and is in great demand with many recording studios as a session musician.
