Wet
Fish - Beach Party - Rock N Roll Band
The Wet Fish started in 2013 as an all instrumental surf rock act (thus the “nautical” name of the band).
The band had plenty of success as an instrumental group and the “surf” angle has gotten us heaps of work at coastal festivals, beach themed parties etc. To keep a wider range of punters and venues happy, the guitarist started singing for the band in 2019.
The band’s vocal repertoire since 2019 is a revival of classic American rock and roll, soul, country and blues material
(surf rock remains too of course). As far as we’re concerned, we’re just playing a diverse mix of the the original and best American rock music of all time. It’s always energetic, fun, recognisable, family-friendly and danceable.
performed over 380 shows on the biggest and smallest stages in South East Queensland and northern NSW.
In comparison, that’s more gigs than full time rock stars Nirvana could manage in 8 years. In summary, we’ve been one of the most consistently busy working bands around since 2015.
Being different from ”typical” cover bands is our goal and this ethos has served us well (we’ve even released 3 original albums).
We’re proudly not like the typical cover band “pack” and we’ve done many festivals and events that typical cover acts would never be considered for. Examples of this are below…
